So the story behind these is pretty much that I wanted Nutella the other day, so I bought some, and used it to make something “healthy” so I wouldn’t feel so bad about myself. I’m actually not even a huge Nutella fan. I obviously enjoy the stuff, but generally it’s just a little bit too much on the sweet side for me to be wanting it on a regular basis. I think it was on my mind because I had been reading the tumblr blog of one of of those girls that ran away to Syria to join ISIS. Apparently they really like Nutella, or so I read. Reading her blog probably sounds like an even more random thing to do than go out and buy Nutella, but it’s actually more the norm for me. I frequently delve into the more obscure side of current events, just out of pure curiosity. I’ve joked with my close friends and family for years that the government has their eye on me. Back when Al Qaeda was all over the news I read they had an online newsletter/magazine circulating to their Western counterparts. They didn’t include a direct link obviously, and they warned that you may not want to go pulling it up on your computer, due to the fact that you could maybe wind up on some watch list. Of course, that was enough to set me off scouring the internet for it, and I found the download pretty easily. It was a frightening, yet fascinating thing to read. My cousin is in the CIA, and while I’m not exactly sure what he does, I like to believe that if my name ever popped up he’d be able to vouch for the fact that I’m just a weirdo with a heightened sense of curiosity.
