Whats a girl to do on a lonely Saturday afternoon while her husband golfs? Make champagne floats of course!
I figured I might as well send this happy little contraption out to the cyber universe while I enjoy it…there just has to be another girl out there like me having a dull Saturday afternoon. I already worked out today, did some laundry, caught up with my mom, painted my nails, even got ready for the date my husband is taking me out on this evening…and still I was left with hours to kill….yet nobody to kill time with.
A sad reality in my life is the fact that all my partners in crime live miles and miles away. Were not talking an hour. Were talking three hours minimum…or up to twelve hours in a car to Texas. It’s a good thing they are readily available to me 24/7 through text messages. It’s also a good thing I keep raspberry sorbet and bubbly on hand for champagne floats whenever the mood strikes me. I would usually reserve a champagne float for the end of a dinner party or for a fun drink with some girlfriends, but I decided to treat myself this afternoon. One for me…and one in honor of my bestest long lost amigas.
My cousin Danielle and I right after I got married-this is what it looks like to truly be happy for somebody you love……..My best friend Lauren, nobody makes me laugh harder or knows more about me….Amanda, the girl I see too little of and don’t talk to often enough, but I will always love like a sister, a true heart of gold.
Sorbet – Any Flavor…I love raspberry!
It doesn’t get simpler than this: Place sorbet in a glass. Pour champagne over the top (preferably dry…unless you really like sweet stuff). Consume.
